Our work at the Global Observatory for Gender Equality & Sport (GO) is guided by three core objectives

Lead Research and Insight

Build a global Knowledge Hub that brings together key data, statistics, research and best practices, while encouraging innovative research to address evidence gaps and strengthen understanding of gender equality in sport.

Convene and Coordinate Stakeholders

Connect, coordinate and convene individuals and organisations working to advance gender equality across the sport and physical activity sector.

Advance Advocacy and Influence

Champion advocacy and communication by sharing knowledge, amplifying key messages and mobilising collective support for impactful action.

Universities and Academic Institutions

By collaborating with universities and academics, we collect and analyse data, facilitate knowledge exchange and develop evidence-based recommendations. This work supports the creation of unified methodologies and strategic approaches to addressing systemic gender inequalities in sport.

Governments and United Nations Agencies

By working closely with governments and UN agencies, we advocate for policy reform, resource allocation and coordinated initiatives that promote gender equality in sport at national, regional and global levels.

International Federations & Sport Entities

Through partnerships with sports organisations, including international federations, we support the integration of gender equality principles into governance structures, competitions and development programmes, helping to foster long-term structural change across the sporting ecosystem.
